Time’s Top 25 Horror Movies

While there will never be a definitive list of anything, ever, this is a pretty good list of horror movies.  Most I’ve seen, the rest I’d like to see, many I now want to see again.

Here’s the list.  It’s from Time’s Richard Corliss, who’s a movie reviewer I quite like.

What are your favourite horror movies?  And by ‘your’, I am, of course, talking to the ghosts who are the only spirits who likely will read this.

My top 3:

The Exorcist
Halloween
The Changeling
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the original)

That’s right, my top 3 has 4 films in it.

Here are my top three…in no particular order.
    1. The Exorcist
    2. Alien
    3. Halloween
Does Silence of the Lambs count as a horror??? If it does I’ll make my top three four as well.

Any list of my favourite is completely subject to change. But as I think of them right now I’d say:
Night of the Living Dead (this movie terrified me as a kid.)
Zombi 2 by Fulci (I love zombie movies and this might be my favourite.)
M (with Peter Lorre. What else needs to be said.)
The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (To think of when this film was made and how remarkable it looks. Wow.)
Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (Just in case I was looking a little pompous with my obscure selections. My guilty pleasure. Everyone has super powers. Sweet Dokken soundtrack.)
