Here’s a link to a short essay on The Top Ten Sci-Fi Films That Never Existed.
A pretty accurate assesment of what went wrong, story-wise, with some of the biggest Sci-Fi movies, what should have been done instead, and/or what movies should have been made but haven’t and won’t be.
Usually I stick my nose up at people who toss off their opinions of what’s wrong with things because their annoying personalities get in the way of their points, but this guy, David Wong, sticks to the business at hand and offers an exciting alternate universe of what might have been.

Sketch22 Goes Madly Off
Tonight, Dennis, Andrew and I will be performing a couple of sketches at Madly Off In All Directions at the Confederation Centre in Ch’town. Sketch22 has done Madly Off before, and I’ve done it before with another group. Because it’s primarily a show that’s being taped for radio broadcast, it’s a different performance than usual because you really have to perform to the microphone so that means everyone is pretty much stationary and there’s not the same character interactions as usual.
There’s a great lineup of performers scheduled and it should be a great night. If there are tickets left, you should come out and see the show. It’ll be the last Madly Off to come to Ch’town, as Lorne Elliot is getting sane and ending the run of the show.

David Cross Responds To Larry
Apparently comedian David Cross and Comedian Larry the Cable Guy are having a bit of a public tussle. David, in a RollingStone interview, said something about Larry, and then Larry, in response to the RS quote, wrote something about David in his book.
This link is the latest (I assume) volley from David Cross. I always enjoy it when someone takes the time to actually make arguments, counter other’s assertions and defend their opinions, point by point. This is what David Cross does here, in this link. That it is entertaining to boot, well, that’s always a bonus.
If the link doesn’t work, try going here, to the Bob and Dave website, and clicking on the David’s Corner link…
For the record, I am a pretty big fan of both David Cross’ comedy and his publicly-stated opinions and positions on most things relevant to todays socio-political climate.
